Turf Tempo ("we," "our," or "us") helps you track Growing Degree Days (GDD) and time your
plant growth regulator (PGR) applications. This policy explains what the app collects, how it's
used, and the choices you have. Most of your data stays on your device; cloud backup is optional
and only used if you choose to set it up.
2. Information We Collect
Location
Device location (GPS): collected only with your permission, and only while you are using the app — never in the background.
Manual location: any city, address, or postcode you enter.
Derived coordinates: the latitude and longitude resolved from your location, used to fetch weather.
Property & Application Data
Property names, turf type, base temperature, and reapplication target.
PGR application records you log, including product, rate, date, and any notes.
Your display preferences (units, notifications, location setting).
Technical
A randomly generated device identifier, stored on your device and used only to rate-limit weather requests fairly (so people on a shared network aren't blocked). It is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you across apps or companies.
Account Information (only with cloud backup)
Your email address, used to sign in via a one-time code if you enable cloud backup.
A snapshot of your property and application data, plus your device type (e.g. iOS/Android), stored with your backup.
3. How We Use Your Information
Calculate Growing Degree Days from your location's weather data.
Track your PGR applications and estimate your next application date — computed on your device from weather forecast data.
Send on-device reminders about application timing (if notifications are enabled).
Back up and restore your data across devices, if you choose to use cloud backup.
4. Cloud Backup & Your Account
Cloud backup is optional. If you add your email, we send a one-time sign-in code and store a copy
of your property and application data so you can restore it on a new device. We do not use your
email for marketing.
You stay in control: sign out at any time (your data remains on the device and backup pauses), or
permanently delete your account and all cloud data from within the app — see Section 6.
5. Third-Party Services
We share only what's needed for the app to function, and never with advertisers or data brokers:
MET Norway (api.met.no) — receives your coordinates to return weather and forecast data. Weather data is provided by MET Norway.
Visual Crossing — receives a property's coordinates to return the rain-chance for the Spray Outlook, and (only when you record an application dated in the past) a past date range for historical weather.
Your device's built-in geocoder (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) — used on-device to turn a place name or address into coordinates.
Supabase — hosts authentication and cloud backup; receives your email and backup data only if you enable backup.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
Enable or disable notifications, and switch between metric and imperial units, in Settings.
View, edit, or delete individual properties and application records in the app.
Clear all data stored on your device at any time.
Permanently delete your account and all cloud backup data: Settings → Account & Backup → Delete account. This removes your sign-in record and your cloud data and cannot be undone.
Request access to, correction of, or erasure of your data — in the app, or by emailing us (Section 9).
7. Data Storage & Security
Your properties and applications are stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud backup, a
copy is stored with our backup provider (Supabase). All network transfers use industry-standard
encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and weather data is cached briefly to improve performance.
8. International Users
Turf Tempo works worldwide and adapts units and date formats to your region. If you enable cloud
backup, your data may be processed or stored on servers located in a country other than your own.
Wherever you are, you can exercise your rights — including erasure — using the in-app account
deletion or by contacting us.
