Using Turf Tempo
How does it predict my next application date?
It adds up Growing Degree Days (GDD) day-by-day from your local weather and the upcoming forecast, then estimates when you'll reach your target. It's a forecast-based estimate — always confirm against current field conditions.
What do the confidence labels on a target mean?
They tell you how well-researched a number is — from Validated (direct research) down to Configurable (no model, calibrate carefully). Greens and fairway numbers are strongest; lawn-height numbers are extrapolated from golf-turf research.
Why is my lawn's target shown as a range?
PGR research was done on shorter golf turf. The direction (taller turf = longer interval) is validated, but the exact lawn number isn't — so Turf Tempo gives a range, starts you at the short end, and tightens it to your turf through calibration as you log how it responds.
Why can't I pick certain products for a home lawn?
Some PGR labels prohibit residential-lawn use, and applying off-label is a federal violation. Turf Tempo flags those products with the reason and keeps them unselectable for that site. It's a labeling limit — not a judgment about the product.
Does the rate I enter change my schedule?
No. Rate controls how deep the suppression is, not how long it lasts — duration is driven by temperature. The rate is stored for your records; always follow the product label for the correct rate.
Why is GDD always shown in Celsius?
Every product label and turf tool uses Celsius degree-days (trinexapac 200, Anuew 280), so a converted number would just look unfamiliar. The units toggle still switches temperatures and rates between metric and imperial.
Troubleshooting & data
My GDD isn't updating, or I applied PGR early
Not updating? Make sure the property has a location and your device is online, then pull down on the GDD Tracker to refresh. Applied early? Open the property's Settings and tap Reset GDD Tracking to count fresh from today — your application history is preserved.
Do you collect my data?
Your properties, applications, and history are stored on your device. An account is optional — needed only for cloud backup, which signs you in with a one-time email code to back up and restore. Your location is used only while you're using the app to fetch weather, never in the background. See our Privacy Policy.
